Board Certified Primary Care Physicians, Dr. Joi Johnson-Weaver and Dr. Blake Johnson have over 30 years combined experience in taking care of patients. During the pandemic, their focus has been on taking care of patients who may have or have COVID-19 as well as testing patients for COVID-19.  With the CDC’s order that all travelers should have a PCR test 72 hours prior to international travel, Drs' Johnson-Weaver and Johnson recognized a need for fast, safe, reliable COVID-19 PCR testing.  Many of their patients did not know where to obtain a PCR for travel. The CARES act covers COVID-19 testing for symptoms and exposure but generally not for travel.  In addition to this, most PCR tests in your doctor’s office or a Minute Clinic or favorite drugstore generally can’t guarantee a turnaround time of 72 hours for results.  To add one more drawback to getting a fast safe PCR,  going to a testing site during a pandemic can be a hassle with long wait times, and possible exposure to sick patients with COVID-19 symptoms in waiting rooms.

Their mobile phlebotomist team have been testing patients throughout the pandemic and take the highest safety precautions when conducting testing.  At DMCOVIDTEST whenever possible, our mobile phlebotomist will test you outside your home while you are in your vehicle.  COVID-19 particles are less likely to infect someone while in an open space, such as outdoors so they believe when possible this is the best way to test.

They have partnered with a lab that is used to high volume, fast turnaround testing for nursing homes.  With this experience, Drs. Johnson-Weaver and Johnson know that their lab can get travelers’ the results they need within the time they need.
